Role Overview

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) seeks a highly skilled Cloud Solution Architect with expertise in solution development for a cloud-based ecosystem, focusing on AWS cloud networking and security. Responsibilities include designing scalable architectures, developing solutions, and leading teams to adopt cloud technologies effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, resilient cloud architectures using AWS services.
• Implement security best practices, including cloud networking, IAM, and security monitoring.
• Develop APIs, automate infrastructure with IaC tools, and set up CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Ensure solution quality through testing, documentation, and compliance with policies.
• Manage cloud security, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
• Build monitoring and logging solutions for operational stability.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cloud architecture, especially AWS.
• Proficiency in API development, containerization, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, networking, and IaC tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional and at least one AWS Specialty certification preferred.
• Excellent communication, training, and collaboration skills.

Candidate Requirements

• Must reside in the US and be able to work EST hours.
• Experience in cloud security, networking, and DevOps practices.
• Willingness to convert to full-time in the future (no guarantees).

Candidates should demonstrate advanced cloud architecture skills, scripting (Python/NodeJS), serverless computing, containerization, and automation expertise.
