About The Role

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) seeks a highly skilled Cloud Solution Architect with expertise in solution development to support a modern cloud-based ecosystem. This role involves implementing technology solutions that enhance decision-making and processes across all business units, aligned with the agency's architectural roadmap and enterprise goals.

The Cloud Solution Architect II will develop, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and applications, enabling collaboration, automation, and efficiency to deliver high-quality software and services rapidly.

This position requires proficiency in cloud initiatives, software engineering best practices, team leadership, and training teams on cloud technologies to ensure successful adoption.

Additional Responsibilities Include

• Hands-on solution development on AWS cloud, integrating with various applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into solution components aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Design and develop scalable, resilient cloud architectures using cloud-native services.
• Develop front-end and back-end components within cloud and hybrid infrastructures using AWS.
• Create comprehensive solution documentation.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines for automation.
• Ensure solution quality through testing and compliance with security policies.
• Manage configuration consistency using tools like AWS CloudFormation.
• Apply DevOps principles to streamline SDLC and automation.
• Deploy solutions, establish monitoring, and ensure operational stability.
• Collaborate with teams to understand change requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Qualifications Include

• Expertise in cloud solutions, translating requirements into tested workflows using tools like AWS and Azure.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms and native services.
• API development skills, especially for cloud environments (e.g., AWS API Gateway).
• Understanding of cloud networking and security best practices.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of serverless computing (AWS Lambda).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform.
• Scripting skills (Python, Node.js).
• Experience in monitoring and logging solutions.
• Strong DevOps understanding, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Compliance with agency policies.

Additional Considerations

• Must have advanced expertise in cloud architecture, software engineering, scripting, serverless, containers, and DevOps.
• Good communication and training skills, ability to collaborate across teams, and understanding of business processes.
• AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional and at least one AWS Specialty certification are preferred.
