Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) in Columbia is seeking a Database Administrator II to manage and support the agency's SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases across environments. You will handle updates, security, recovery, and performance.

A strong background in database design, data security, and reporting is essential. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in IT systems or database administration and experience with cloud deployments of SQL Server

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT systems, database administration, or a related field.
Experience in information technology systems or a related area.
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgresSQL in cloud environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Installation, configuration, upgrade, and migration of database software.
Backup and recovery of databases.
Administration and maintenance of database security policies and procedures.
Capacity planning and monitoring of database systems.
Management of database change management, including separate test and production environments.
Deployment of system solutions into production.
