Job summary

South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) in Columbia is seeking a Database Administrator II to manage and optimize our SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will ensure data integrity, security, and performance while coordinating with technical staff and customers.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, database administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL in cloud environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Installation, configuration, upgrade, and migration of database software.
Backup and recovery of databases.
Administration and maintenance of database security policies and procedures.
Capacity planning and monitoring of database systems.
Management of database change management, including separate test and production environments.
Deployment of system solutions into production.
