Job summary

Vitaver and Associates, Inc. (dba Vitaver Staffing) seeks a seasoned database administrator for a 100% on-site role in Tallahassee, FL, for a 12+ month project. The candidate will manage DB2 z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle across the enterprise, with emphasis on performance, upgrades, and recovery.

The position requires strong mainframe experience (JCL, COBOL, CICS, RACF) and Windows/Azure skills, plus a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. On-site work only, no remote option.

Qualifications

• 100% on-site at client site in Tallahassee, FL.
• 12+ years combined experience with DB2 z/OS, SQL Server 2008 R2/2012, and Oracle 10g+.
• DB2 for z/OS administration: app integration, performance management, upgrades, catalog maintenance, PIT recovery, monitoring.
• z/OS platform knowledge: started task creation/management, monitoring tools, EXITs, infrastructure planning.
• Mainframe development/support tools: JCL, CA GEN, ISPF, ASG Scheduler, COBOL.
• Mainframe subsystems/utilities: RACF, CICS, IOF, AFOPER, IBI z/OS service, BJS.
• Disaster recovery requirements.
• Windows Server administration, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, and Azure.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational and database administration activities.
• Plan, design, implement, and support database structures.
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning.
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation.
• Perform SQL code reviews.
• Assist with training and mentoring of other technical staff.
• Perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested.

Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions

Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client's site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.

Required:

• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client's site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience with database administration across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server 2008 R2/2012, and Oracle 10g and above (12+ years combined);
• Experience with DB2 for z/OS administration, including ap pl ication integration, performance management, upgrades, catalog maintenance, point-in-time recovery, and monitoring tools;
• Experience with the z/OS pl atform, including started task creation and management, software monitoring tools, EXITs, and infrastructure im pl ementation pl anning;
• Experience with mainframe development and support tools, including JCL, CA GEN, ISPF, the ASG Scheduler, and COBOL;
• Experience with mainframe subsystems and utilities, including RACF, CICS, IOF, AFOPER commands, IBI z/OS service support, and BJS;
• Experience with disaster recovery technical requirements;
• Experience with Windows Server administration, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, and Azure;
• Experience with verification testing techniques for infrastructure change management;
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred:

• Experience with Client's integrated database infrastructure;
• Experience with Client's financial management ap pl ications;
• Experience with Client's integrated ap pl ication environment;
