Job summary

Dexian is seeking a DB2 DBA for a long-term on-site contract in Tallahassee, FL. This role centers on daily database operations and hands-on administration.

You will plan, design and implement database structures, monitor performance, conduct SQL code reviews, and develop procedures, while mentoring other technical staff.

The candidate must bring 15 years of combined experience across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle, with advanced DB2 z/OS knowledge and strong RACF/ISPF skills.

• Experience with DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• On-site Tallahassee, FL is required.

Job Tasks and Activities

• Daily operational and database administration activities
• Plan, design, implement, support for database structures
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
• Perform SQL Code reviews
• Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested

Required Experience

The candidate must have skill and 15 years combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms:

1. DB2 for z/OS
2. SQL Server 2008R2, 2012
3. Oracle 10g and above

• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management and data base administration
• Advanced knowledge of upgrading DB2 for z/OS
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS catalog maintenance

• Advanced knowledge of JCL
• In depth knowledge of the z/OS integrated platform

• In depth knowledge of the use and interpretation of DB2 for z/OS database monitoring tools

• Solid working knowledge of z/OS started task creation and management
• Solid working knowledge of IBI z/OS service support
