Job summary

enGen is seeking a DB2 Database Administrator to design, manage, and optimize our core DB2 systems. You will ensure high availability, security, and peak performance for enterprise databases supporting critical healthcare operations.

You will collaborate with development teams, participate in change management, and drive automation and continuous improvement across the database environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma GED is required.
• 1-3 years of experience in Information Technology requested.
• US citizenship is required due to contractual/access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support DB2 databases across production and test environments.
• Design, create, modify, and maintain core database objects (tablespaces, tables, indexes, views, packages, plans).
• Implement changes, upgrades, patches, and releases following change management processes.
• Monitor and tune database performance to optimize application response times.
• Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis, including on-call rotations.
• Execute and test backups, disaster recovery plans, and validation after maintenance.
• Collaborate with development teams to provide design guidance and SQL optimization.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices across the organization.
• Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and maintain runbooks.
