Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an experienced Principal System Db2 Software Engineer to join our remote team in the United States. You will lead Db2 software lifecycle management, administer z/OS Db2 environments, and drive disaster recovery strategies across large mainframe configurations.

You will use SMP/E, GDPS, and enterprise monitoring tools to optimize performance, ensure high availability, and support incident response.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience configuring SMP/E, managing Db2 logging, and supporting Db2 SysPlex environments.
10+ years of mainframe systems experience with Db2 administration in large z/System environments.
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Omegamon, MXG, Splunk) and ITSM processes.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, configure, and manage Db2 software lifecycle in large z/System environments.
Manage Db2 logging, storage, performance tuning, and disaster recovery capabilities.
Define and maintain Data Sharing environments and Db2 SysPlex integration.
Monitor system performance using Omegamon, MXG, and Splunk to identify root causes and improve stability.
Provide technical support during 24x7 on-call rotations and document processes for Help Desk.
