Job summary

Novant Health in Greenville, SC is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams in a fast-paced environment. This part-time role offers a consistent schedule—roughly 2.5 days per week—with emphasis on sterile technique, patient safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities include OR prep, instrument handling, sterile processing, and adherence to safety standards. Current SC Surgical Tech certification and timely credentialing are required; new grads must obtain certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D).
• Current Surgical Tech certification required, per South Carolina regulations.
• New graduates must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Support: Assist the surgical team by preparing the OR, organizing instruments and supplies, and maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.
• Patient Care: Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while assisting with transportation, positioning, communication, and perioperative needs.
• OR & Equipment: Prepare and maintain operating rooms, instruments, medications, and equipment; participate in surgical time-outs and ensure supplies are available.
• Sterile Processing: Clean, disinfect, sterilize, assemble, and maintain surgical instruments; monitor sterilization and maintain records.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow facility policies, infection prevention standards, safety procedures, and accepted surgical practices; monitor supplies and equipment.
• Teamwork & Professionalism: Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals, support case management, manage inventory and costs, and pursue ongoing education.
