ICL in Brooklyn, NY, seeks a responsible driver for Eldert Lane Shelter transportation. The role emphasizes safety, client courtesy, and pre/post-trip vehicle inspections. The driver will assist clients, read maps in English, and maintain trip records. Schedule is 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday, onsite.

The position requires a NYS driver license appropriate for the vehicle, with CDL Class A/B/C or General Class D potentially required based on assignment. Work authorization in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Clean New York State driver license appropriate for the vehicle.
• CDL Class A, B, C or General Class D license may be required depending on vehicle assignment.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Onsite work location.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned vehicles safely and courteously.
• Relay information between clients and staff and between programs.
• Assist clients in and out of vehicles and operate ramps/lifts.
• Read maps and road signs in English to plan travel routes.
• Provide safety briefings to passengers before trips.
• Maintain clean vehicles inside and out.
• Keep records: trip sheets, maintenance logs, fuel purchases, incident reports.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance with management.
• Respond to accidents or emergencies as needed.
• Attend required training and safety courses.
