Job summary

St. Francis Area Schools is seeking a Day Cleaner/Custodian at East Bethel Elementary School (EBES) to perform daily cleaning, sanitation and maintenance of classrooms, restrooms and common areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a boiler license for placement in the Custodian classification; starting pay reflects prior work experience. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, longevity pay, and uniforms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Qualifying boiler license required for placement in Custodian classification.
• Ability to stand, walk, push/pull equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Positive communication with staff, families, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, strip and finish floors and maintain them.
• Empty trash, replace liners, and clean/disinfect restrooms and fixtures.
• Inspect areas for cleaning or safety concerns and report needs.
• Assist with building security checks and setup for events.
• Support snow/ice removal and summer cleaning as assigned.
• Follow district safety procedures and supervisor directives.
