Anna's House in Ann Arbor is seeking a daytime Host(ess) to greet guests, manage the wait, and keep the dining room flowing through lunch service.

You’ll coordinate with servers, answer questions about the menu and hours, and ensure the front entrance stays neat. A positive attitude and teamwork are a must.

This role offers steady daytime hours with weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests at the door and managing wait times.
• Tracking open tables and seating parties for fair rotation.
• Maintaining an organized waitlist and checking in with guests during peak periods.
• Answering questions about menu, hours, and daily features.
• Walking guests to tables and presenting menus with a friendly tone.
• Assisting with drink refills, table resets, and light bussing during busy periods.
• Keeping the entrance, lobby, and host area tidy and ready for guests.
• Staying in touch with servers and managers about open tables and flow.
• Resolving small guest requests and involving a manager when needed.

The Role
As our Daytime Host(ess), you set the pace at the front of the house from open through the lunch crowd. You'll greet guests as they arrive, keep the wait moving, and help the dining room run smoothly so servers and the kitchen can do their best work.

What You'll Do (and make a lasting impression!):

As our Host(ess), you are the director of first impressions and the orchestrator of our dining room flow. Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming guests at the door and letting them know how long the wait is
• Tracking open tables and seating parties so each server gets a fair, steady rotation
• Keeping the waitlist organized and checking in with waiting guests during the weekend brunch rush
• Taking phone calls and answering questions about our menu, hours, and daily features
• Walking guests to their tables and handing off menus with a friendly word or two
• Pitching in on drink refills, table resets, and light bussing when the floor gets busy
• Keeping the front entrance, lobby, and host area neat and ready for the next guest
• Staying in touch with servers and managers so everyone knows which tables are open and which are coming up next
• Resolving small guest requests on the spot and bringing in a manager when needed
