Job summary

Athol Hospital in Massachusetts is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform two-dimensional ultrasound exams, prepare equipment, and ensure high-quality images for physician diagnosis. You will instruct patients, select transducers, and enter data into the Meditech system.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited Ultrasound or Radiology program, hold ARDMS registration, and be able to work per diem with day shifts. BLS certification is required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology.
• Previous ultrasound procedures experience preferred.
• ARDMS registration in Ultrasound and BLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assures ultrasound images are of optimum diagnostic quality for radiologist interpretation.
• Follows image criteria and ensures all required measurements and demographics are captured.
• Operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment and enters data into Meditech system.
• Coordinates daily schedule and patient flow for timely exams.
• Maintains a safe environment and proper patient positioning during exams.
• Reviews orders for accuracy and ensures the correct examination is performed.
