Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Operating Room team at the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville. This part-time position (36 hours/week) is scheduled Monday to Friday with no on-call, weekends, or holidays, and includes cross-campus training to float to the Alfond Center for Health if needed.

The role requires Maine RN licensure (or prompt eligibility) and at least 2 years of OR experience preferred, with strong problem-solving and communication

Qualifications

• Current State of Maine RN license (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Maintains and troubleshoots surgical equipment.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
