Job summary

YMCA is hiring Lifeguards across multiple locations with daytime shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., requiring a minimum of 10 hours per week. A sign-on bonus up to $350 applies ($250 for non-certified, $350 for certified lifeguards).

Eligibility details are discussed in the interview process. As a Lifeguard, you proactively monitor pool areas, enforce rules, respond to emergencies with CPR and first aid, inspect equipment, assist with swim lessons, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week between 5:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• Hold a valid lifeguard certification from YMCA or Red Cross, including CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen administration.
• Excellent swimming skills and ability to perform rescue techniques.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn from feedback.
• Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor pool areas and enforce safety rules to prevent accidents.
• Respond to emergencies with first aid and CPR to protect members.
• Identify and resolve potential hazards immediately.
• Inspect pool equipment and facilities and report issues.
• Inform members about pool rules and safety procedures.
