Job summary

YMCA OF GREATE MONMOUTH COUNTY in Red Bank, NJ is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to help keep our pool area safe and welcoming for members and guests. The role offers flexible shifts, a competitive hourly wage, and the chance to work in a supportive community-focused environment.

Key duties include monitoring aquatic activities, responding to emergencies, enforcing pool rules, performing water testing, and assisting with trainings.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard Certification (YMCA, Red Cross, or equivalent).
• CPR/AED Certification.
• First Aid Certification.
• Ability to successfully complete swim and rescue skills assessments.
• Minimum age requirement as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimming pool activities and maintain a safe aquatic environment.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
• Enforce pool safety rules and YMCA policies.
• Conduct pool area inspections and safety checks.
• Perform routine water testing and document results.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Attend required trainings and in-service sessions.
• Support a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
• Perform additional functions as assigned
