Portage Township Schools is seeking a Daytime Custodian/Groundskeeper to provide custodial and groundskeeping services at the assigned building, ensuring a neat, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors.

The role includes routine cleaning operations, lawn care, snow removal, mulching, pruning, and indoor/outdoor maintenance for classroom activities and events, with a 6:00 am start and 2:30 pm finish, Monday through Friday.

Responsabilités

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Changing filters on a regular basis.
• Mowing responsibilities with a push mower where accessible.
• Trim edges of building, trees, shrubs, signs, poles, and curbs.
• Keep sidewalks and entryways free of grass clippings and debris.
• Weed beds around signage, mulch areas, playgrounds, and islands.
• Use tractor for main snow removal and shovel/snow blow other areas.
• Spread salt on walks, driveways, and playgrounds when needed.
• Rake leaves in fall and maintain mulch coverage around trees and signs.
• Prune and trim small trees and bushes on school grounds.
• Move furniture and equipment as assigned; secure entrances/exits.
