Job summary

Midland County is seeking a dedicated janitorial staff member to perform routine custodial duties across county buildings. The role is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional after-hours work as needed.

Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, breakrooms, desks, and common areas, with safety procedures strictly followed. Responsibilities also cover restocking supplies, maintaining equipment, and reporting safety or maintenance concerns to Facilities Management.

Qualifications

• One year of janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to operate common janitorial equipment safely.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors and vacuum carpets in offices, hallways, lobbies, and other areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms; restock supplies.
• Clean breakrooms and common areas; dust surfaces.
• Empty trash, replace liners, and transport waste.
• Clean interior glass and other surfaces; monitor spaces for cleaning needs.
• Report maintenance concerns to Facilities Management and maintain equipment.
