Iowa Veterinary Specialty Hospital (IVS) is a fast-paced, AAHA-accredited, and progressive referral practice in Des Moines, Iowa. Owned by Iowa State University and operational for over 40 years, we provide 24-hour Emergency and Specialty veterinary care.We are seeking an ER Veterinarian to join our fast-paced, progressive referral practice. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a well-established, supportive, and forward-thinking practice.

Position Overview:

As an ER Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing emergency care for incoming patients and hospitalized patients including endoscopy and ER surgeries. You will have the chance to work with a variety of cases, including trauma, critical care, and specialty consultations. Training will be provided so surgery and endoscopy experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality emergency care including trauma and critical care
• Work with Iowa State University Veterinary Student in a variety of programs
• Collaborate with our staff of veterinary technicians, veterinarians, surgeons and specialists to ensure the best patient care.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools including a full-service in-house IDEXX lab, digital x-ray, and on-site 64-slice CT.
• Maintain accurate medical records and effectively communicate with clients about their pets' care.
