Job summary

Pride, Inc. is hiring a daytime Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Day Program. You will work with people with developmental disabilities to build skills, explore the community, and work toward personal goals in a supportive, on-site setting.

You’ll encourage independence, help plan activities, provide transportation when needed, and document progress to support individuals on their path to employment and greater independence.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable, flexible and positive with a focus on helping people.
• Experience in human services is preferred but not required.
• Able to work in a daytime, on-site program with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support social, employment-readiness, self-advocacy, recreation, and daily living skills.
• Encourage independence, choice, confidence, and personal growth.
• Help people explore employment and community opportunities.
• Plan and participate in meaningful activities based on individual interests and abilities.
• Provide transportation to activities and community opportunities.
• Document progress and help individuals work toward their personal goals.
• Create an environment where people are treated with dignity and respect.
