Job summary

New Hope Community is hiring a Direct Support Professional I for daytime program support. The DSP-I will engage participants in life skills, social activities, and community participation, fostering dignity, independence and inclusion.

Responsibilities include documentation, teamwork, and maintaining health and safety standards. A High School diploma or GED and NY driver’s license are preferred; on-site work with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid NY Driver's License preferred for Driver positions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Orientation and training completion required.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered supports to participants during daytime programming.
• Participate in activities to promote life skills, social relationships and community participation.
• Document daily service notes and progress notes accurately.
• Maintain health and safety, including CPR/First Aid and SCIP certifications.
• Work collaboratively with team to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
