Valley Cities is seeking a Daytime Crisis Specialist in Federal Way, WA. The role provides crisis services by phone or outreach and involves risk assessment, stabilization, and referral support.

You will evaluate suicide/homicide ideation and grave disability, using clinical judgment and de-escalation with distressed clients. Coordination with the client’s care team, hospital staff, and community partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences required with proficiency in the required skills.
• Master’s degree preferred, meeting state requirements for mental health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis services by phone or outreach with risk assessment and stabilization.
• Evaluate suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, danger to self/others, and grave disability.
• Use de-escalation and clinical judgment when clients are in distress or crisis.
• Coordinate client care with the ongoing care team at Valley Cities.
• Coordinate with hospital staff, DCRs, and community partners.
• Prepare affidavits/declarations per King County Superior Court criteria for involuntary hospitalization.
