Job summary

Visiting Angels Southlake is seeking compassionate in-home caregivers to enrich clients’ lives in Fort Worth and surrounding areas. You will provide companionship, assist with daily living activities, manage light housekeeping and transportation, and support medication reminders while following individualized care plans.

Experience with dementia care is a plus, and agency training including AlzBetter and Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care is available.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• 1 year of caregiving experience with an agency or facility or a CNA license
• Dementia or Alzheimer's care experience is a plus
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable vehicle for work with proof of insurance
• Pass background check

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Transport to doctor appointments and errands.
• Agency offers specialized dementia care training (AlzBetter, Teepa Snow PAM).

As a Visiting Angels Caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene

• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks

• Planning and preparing meals with clients

• Handling light housekeeping duties

• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents

• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship

• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies

• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips

• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately

• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands
