Hy-Vee's Market Grille is seeking a Breakfast Cook to prepare a variety of hot and cold breakfast items, prep ingredients, and keep the kitchen running smoothly from the first shift through the last.

You will greet customers with a smile, follow recipes, maintain sanitation, and work as part of a fast-paced kitchen team to ensure great service.

Previous food service experience and reliability are valued, and safety standards, equipment handling, and teamwork are emphasized in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one
• Prepare cooking surfaces and ready the kitchen for service
• Prepare vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods according to restaurant recipes and specifications
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary throughout your shift
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed
• Order product and supplies when necessary or notify the department head of needs
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized at all times
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
