Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Breakfast Cook to support the Market Grille’s morning service. You will prep ingredients, assemble dishes, and keep the kitchen running smoothly from first shift to last.

You will greet customers with a smile, maintain high sanitation standards, and work as part of a fast-paced team to ensure a great customer experience. Ideal applicants have a high school diploma or equivalent, with some related kitchen experience welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ per additional considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and ready the kitchen for service.
• Prepare vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods according to recipes.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary throughout your shift.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Order product and supplies when necessary or notify the department head of needs.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
