Job summary

Kiddie Academy at Moorefield Station in Virginia is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher for an hourly, contract-to-hire position. The role starts hourly with a pathway to full-time with benefits after about six months, based on performance and academy needs.

Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate activities, supporting development across domains, and maintaining a nurturing classroom. CPR/First Aid and CDA or related coursework are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for working with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, or related credentials preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development.
• Assist with daily classroom routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, nap time, and transitions.
• Observe and document children's developmental progress.
• Build positive relationships and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's growth and daily activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that meets licensing and Kiddie Academy standards.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and academy leadership to provide exceptional care and education.

• Genuine passion for working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
• Patient, caring, enthusiastic, dependable, and professional.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, or related credentials are preferred but not required.

Preferred Bonus Skills

• Experience creating engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, or other social media platforms.
• Basic Canva or graphic design skills.
• Ability to capture classroom photos and videos while following privacy policies.
• Interest in helping promote academy events, enrollment, and community engagement through social media.
