Job summary

Kiddie Academy of Little Neck is seeking an energetic Assistant Teacher to support daily activities, supervise children, and help with lesson planning in a caring, collaborative environment.

You will work with the lead teacher to implement classroom programs, assist with mealtimes, and ensure a safe, clean learning space. This role requires a friendly, professional attitude and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work 8:15am to 3pm three days a week and 8:15am to 5:30pm two days a week.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years.
• Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.
• Highly professional and dependable.
• Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
• Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high.

Responsibilities

• Helps, supervises and interacts with the children during all activities
• Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise
• Develops, plans, and prepares instructional aids/materials for classroom activities
• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained
• Assists children with mealtimes and clean-up encouraging independence
• Completes all necessary academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested
• Works with the lead teacher to prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules
• Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly
• Keeps all items neat and organized
• Performs other duties as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
