Apploi in Philadelphia, PA is hiring a Prep/Production Cook to prepare nutritious meals for daycare centers on a Monday-Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

You will weigh, portion, and package meals, monitor cooking, ensure HACCP and CACFP compliance, maintain a clean kitchen, and receive deliveries. This full-time role offers year-round employment and a stable daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, production kitchen, prep cook, or institutional cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CACFP meal requirements is a plus.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, and organized.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry boxes and supplies.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Weighing, measuring, and portioning food according to recipes and production requirements.
• Preparing and packaging meals for daycare center clients.
• Loading and unloading food items in ovens and monitoring cooking processes.
• Following all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
• Proper labeling, dating, and rotation of food products (FIFO).
• Assisting with CACFP-compliant meal production and meal pattern requirements.
• Receiving, unloading, and putting away deliveries.
• Restocking food, supplies, and packaging materials.
• Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Lifting and moving boxes, food products, and supplies as needed.
• Performing other kitchen and food production duties as assigned.
