Job summary

Kootenai Health seeks an experienced RN for Day Surgery in the Perioperative Services department. The role supports patient care using nursing processes, patient-family partnership, and evidence-based practices in alignment with Idaho Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, administering meds, educating patients, and maintaining daily attendance while meeting unit needs. Idaho RN licensure and BSN are required.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program.
• State of Idaho RN or temporary licensure OR multistate compact with Idaho.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Critical Care, Emergency or OR/PACU.
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician during examinations and procedures.
• Performs tests and administers medications within RN scope.
• Educates patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Plans and accomplishes goals using experience and judgment.
• Performs a variety of tasks with creativity and latitude.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit.
