Job summary

Covenant House Texas seeks a Youth Engagement Specialist to provide direct, trauma-informed support to youth across our Safe Haven, Rights of Passage, and Transitional Living programs. You will engage youth in education, career pathways, and life-skill activities while ensuring safety and supportive mentorship.

The role requires interaction across multiple settings, collaboration with staff, and flexibility to meet youth needs, including occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; further education in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology preferred.
• Ability to relate to at-risk youth and demonstrate empathy with diverse backgrounds.
• Flexible schedule; willingness to work weekends/holidays as needed.
• Proficient with basic computer skills and reporting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain actual, intentional contact with assigned youth during each shift.
• Provide face-to-face support in Youth Engagement Center and related programs.
• Assist in documenting youth files and reporting as directed by leadership.
• Engage youth in education, vocational, and life-skill activities.
• Collaborate with partners to support youth outcomes and safety.
