Job summary

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of the water treatment plant. You will monitor processes, perform water analyses, adjust chemical dosages, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have a background in water treatment, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to handle routine maintenance and alarms across a busy facility in New York.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Water treatment background preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with PVC, CPVC, and black steel pipe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the operation of the water treatment plant, including gauges, flowmeters, charts, and control systems.
• Perform water analyses (hardness, alkalinity, pH, turbidity, chlorine residual).
• Adjust chemical feed rates to maintain proper treatment levels.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment (pumps, piping, filtration).
• Respond to alarms and issues with systems promptly and effectively.
• Record data on plant operations, pressures, tank levels, and flow rates.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
