Job summary

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to join the 2nd shift team. The role involves monitoring and maintaining the water treatment plant, performing water analyses, adjusting chemical dosages, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, physical ability to lift heavy equipment, and knowledge of electrical systems and plumbing. Experience with PVC, CPVC, and black steel pipe is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Understanding of electrical systems and plumbing.
• Water treatment background preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with PVC, CPVC, and black steel pipe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Operations: Oversee the operation of the water treatment plant, including monitoring gauges, flowmeters, charts, and system control computers.
• Conduct Water Analysis: Perform water analysis tests such as alkalinity and pH to ensure water quality.
• Adjust Chemical Dosages: Determine and adjust chemical feed rates to maintain proper treatment levels.
• Maintain Equipment: Conduct routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including pumps, piping, and filtration systems.
• Respond to Alarms: Quickly and effectively respond to alarms and issues with systems and equipment.
• Record Data: Accurately record data regarding treatment plant operations and distribution system pressures, tank levels, and flow rates.
• Compliance: Ensure that plant operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
