Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in Norfolk, VA seeks three Temporary Services Electricians (J4) on 1st shift, 6:00 AM to 2:45 PM, to support shipboard electrical work and training.

Candidates must understand electrical safety, read NAVSEA standards, OSHA standards, and be able to train junior electricians and draft reports. Access to Navy installations requires DBIDS and NAVSEA badges; no security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Must have superior understanding of electrical safety and good work practices.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead a small team.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Experience with NAVSEA Standard Items and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform temporary service electrical work on shipboard equipment as assigned.
• Train and oversee junior electricians (J1–J3) as needed.
• Draft Condition Found Reports and required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with NAVSEA standards during installations.
