Job summary

National Steel and Shipbuilding Com seeks multiple Temporary Services Electricians (J1–J4) for the 2nd shift in Norfolk, VA. You will work on temporary service electrical installations, training junior electricians, and ensuring compliance with NAVSEA standards and OSHA regulations.

Ability to access Navy installations with NAVSEA badges is required. Proven experience in electrical safety, schematics, and troubleshooting is essential for success in this fast-paced role aboard ship and piers.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical safety and good work practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience guiding and training junior electricians.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical problems.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain Temporary Service equipment and cabling on board ship and piers.
• Read, draft and submit Condition Found Reports as required.
• Provide on-the-job training to J‑1 to J‑3 personnel.
• Ensure compliance with NAVSEA, OSHA and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with team to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
