Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires active CRCST, CER or CIS certification.
• 4 years of related work experience.
• 1 year supervisory experience.
• CHL certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises operations and personnel of Central Sterile Supply.
• Maintains departmental compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Performs duties to support quality patient care.
• Ensures instrumentation care responsibility.
• Actively participates in departmental development.
• Maintains internal inventory levels.
• Identifies and analyzes related problems.
• Ensures compliance with decontamination procedures.
• Provides training on new products and procedures.
• Maintains effective communication with personnel.
• Oversees instrument asset inventory.
• Rounds in the department each shift.
• Assesses staff competencies and develops improvement programs.
• Maintains sterilization records in compliance.
• Coordinates with hospital maintenance for equipment.
• Provides comprehensive department orientation.
• Ensures a safe working environment.
• Supports budget preparation and monitors expenses.
• Coordinates interviewing of new employees.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory mandates.
• Updates policies and procedures.
• Ensures patient safety improvement programs.
• Coordinates staff participation in safety activities.
