Lancaster Metal Manufacturing, a subsidiary of U.S. Boiler Company and Burnham Holdings, is hiring a Shear Operator in Lancaster, PA. The role involves operating power shears to cut steel, measuring to specifications, and maintaining careful quality checks.

It is a full-time, union hourly position with regular daytime hours and overtime as needed. Responsibilities include loading materials, moving with forklift, operating cutting equipment, and recording data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; may have 1–3 months related experience.
• Experience operating forklifts and using measurement tools is preferred.
• Must follow safety protocols and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Unload plates, sheets and coil from truck and store properly.
• Move materials to work area using forklift or manual handling.
• Shear plates and sheets to specifications using gauges and rollers.
• Transport materials with Vac-U-Lift and roller table for cutting operations.
• Stack finished material on skids and storage containers.
• Assist setup and adjustment of knives for cutting clearance.
• Complete quality checks and document data per work orders.
