Job summary

Lancaster Metal Manufacturing in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Shear Operator to join our team. Under limited supervision, operate power shears to cut steel rolls and sheets per specifications, ensuring material conforms to requirements.

This is a full-time, union hourly position in Lancaster with hours Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with overtime and Saturdays as needed. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays and education assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Unloads plate, sheets and coil from truck and stores in proper area using a forklift.
• Obtain material from storage and transport to and from work area, remove and stack finished material.
• Shear plates and sheets to specifications using back stop gauges and adjust rollers as needed.
• Transport steel using Vac-U-Lift and roller tables for cutting operations.
• Ensure finished material is stacked and stored properly.
• Use measuring instruments to verify thickness and dimensions.
• Assist with knife setup and maintain cutting clearance.
• Complete related data sheets and work orders accurately.
