Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a Security Officer to provide professional customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property. You will maintain a professional presence, greet guests, monitor entrances, and patrol assigned areas, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses (20 Hour Security Training Certificate and PERC Card).
• Reliable means of communication and transportation required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat, professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility or building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic; know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests professionally at all times.
• Answer phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Know and enforce facility policies and procedures within role limits.
• Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure authorized removal.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
