Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life-safety services for people and property. Maintain a visible presence, monitor activity, greet visitors, and enforce site policies.

The role requires a state or municipal security license, a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and strong communication. Work schedule Thurs-Sat 10pm-6am at client locations; compensation includes hourly pay with benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid state or municipal security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat and professional appearance.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and aid customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment for suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Be familiar with incoming/outgoing traffic; know customers, tenants, and guests.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff and guests professionally.
• Answer all phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within the position's limits.
• Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or by vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect property and ensure proper removal.
• Follow emergency action planning and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
