Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred
• Texas RN license (or temporary/compact) to practice professional nursing; BLS certification; additional certifications may be required
• RN levels correspond to years of experience: I (<1 yr), II (1-3 yrs), III (3-10 yrs), IV (10+ yrs)

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate patient care according to nursing skills and patient needs
• Coordinates nursing care planning with interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions
• Collaborates with healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes using data, evidence, and standards of care
• Develops/implements discharge and transfer plans
• Participates in program evaluation and process improvement for client-centered outcomes
• Considers diverse patient needs across the continuum of care to optimize service quality
• Adheres to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards
• Ensures safety of patients, staff and visitors within Memorial Hermann policies and budgetary constraints
• Supports professional growth and may serve as preceptor or mentor
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Contributes to an environment where exceptional care flourishes
