Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support the Day Shift on a part-time basis at our San Antonio campus. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the health care team to deliver therapies and manage ventilator support.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, RCP and RRT licensure, and at least six months of hospital-based RT experience. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Six months hospital-based RT experience required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a team and manage high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and recommend respiratory therapy treatments with expected outcomes.
• Plan, prepare, and administer respiratory therapy treatments (PEP, aerosol therapy, chest PT, incentive spirometry).
• Perform ABG puncture draws and analysis.
• Provide advanced respiratory care modalities (HFV, nitric oxide, difficult intubation).
• Manage ventilator setup and weaning; troubleshoot equipment.
