Job summary

Dover Precision Components is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes and mills. You will edit programs, inspect parts, and maintain records while ensuring safety and quality in a high-volume shop environment.

The role requires 3+ years of machinist experience, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints. Expect a 6:00 am – 2:30 pm shift with potential for a discretionary bonus based on performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of shop experience as a machinist.
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

• Works from drawings, sketches and specifications in completing various machining operations.
• Edit CNC programs to manufacture parts per blueprint/drawings.
• Performs machine set ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.
• Obtains required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedure and performs inspections on work-in-progress using measuring devices.
• Maintains records of time, part counts, first piece inspections, and requisitions for each job.
• Makes jigs, fixtures or other specialized non-production devices as qualified and assigned.
• Acquires raw material, supplies, tools when necessary.
• Maintains a clean orderly work area, works safely, and conforms to all quality procedures.
• Performs first piece inspections on basic product for other machinists, as qualified and assigned.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance of machines according to PM schedule.
• Troubleshoots drawings, machining, tooling, programming, material, etc., and makes competent decisions pertaining to job at hand.
• Maintains and monitors machine shop equipment.
