Job summary

Harvard Maintenance is hiring a Porter to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of public and operational spaces. The role supports building management requests and works to create a welcoming environment for tenants, employees, and visitors.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of Porter experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. This is an on-site position with regular daytime hours and physical requirements including standing and walking.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Porter.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Ability to conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups at all professional levels.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, or kneel as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust as needed to keep areas tidy.
• Empty trash and replace liners.
• Restock restroom supplies.
• Wipe down doors, windows, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Respond to spills and tenant requests promptly.
• Assist with moving furniture or setting up meeting spaces for events.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to management.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is in good condition.
