Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV, is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the day shift in the float pool. You will perform nonprofessional direct patient care under RN supervision, supporting high-quality patient care across units.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and prior patient care experience is preferred. You'll assist with admissions, vital signs, hygiene, and care coordination with licensed staff, in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to RN immediately.
• Assist RN with admission, transfer, discharge, and routine care.
• Record vital signs and assist with personal hygiene and comfort.
• Record intake/outtake and monitor fluids and nutrition as directed.
• Assist in specimen collection and related activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections.
• Report equipment issues to supervisor promptly.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Communicate nutrition issues or questions to the RN.
• Assist with department administrative tasks and phone/message handling.
