Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Night shift Nursing Assistant to support registered nurses with direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will assist with admissions, vital signs, hygiene, meals, and transport; maintain a safe, clean environment and report changes to the RN. A High School diploma and BLS certification within 30 days are required; prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and routine patient care tasks.
• Record vital signs and patient intake/output; assist with hygiene and comfort.
• Assist in specimen collection and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Prepare patients for exams and communicate nutrition concerns to RN.
• Support department operations and respond to call bells promptly.
