Job summary

Parkland Health in Florida is seeking a Full Time - Days staff member in the Hospitalist Medicine Department to perform specified patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse, focusing on patient centered care and valuing patients.

The role requires completing or holding an approved nurse aide, medical assistant, or patient care technician credential, plus CPR Heartsaver within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must have completed or be enrolled in an approved nursing/assistive care program.
• Must hold one of the listed certifications or courses.
• Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire or placement.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic hygiene care, unsterile treatments, vital signs and ROM exercises under RN direction.
• Assists with ambulation, feeding, and patient transfers.
• Advocates for patients and maintains confidentiality and rights of patients.
• Document care activities and vital signs in patient records.
• Maintain sanitation, infection control, and safety of patient environment and equipment.
• Escort patients and provide translation services as needed.
• Identify and suggest improvements to work processes to enhance care and efficiency.
• Pursue ongoing education and training to support best nursing practices.
