Job summary

First Urology in Jeffersonville, IN, seeks a Medical Assistant to serve as a key link between patients and clinicians in a busy urology clinic. The MA will manage patient flow, document histories in EMR, perform diagnostic tasks, and support injections, lab work, and administrative duties.

Certification is preferred but not required; the role offers a day shift, in-office schedule, and a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Medical Terminology required.
• Vital Signs required.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Experience utilizing an EMR system required.
• One or more years of experience in an outpatient clinical or medical practice preferred.
• Experience Collecting lab specimens preferred.
• Internship or externship as a Medical Student preferred.
• Current Certification from AAMA, or RMA, EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Taking medical history.
• Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
• Preparing patients for examinations.
• Assisting the clinical team during examinations.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
• Performing basic laboratory tests and diagnostics.
• Instructing patients about medications and diets.
• Preparing and administering medications including injections.
• Transmitting prescription refills as directed.
• Taking electrocardiograms.
• Updating and filing patient medical records.
• Filling out insurance forms.
• Scheduling appointments.
• Arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services.
• Handling correspondence
