Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for an outpatient Surgery specialty office. Responsibilities include room preparation, patient escort, collecting history, vital signs, and documenting in the electronic medical record.

The role supports efficient patient flow and collaboration with front office staff. Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least 6 months of related experience, and preferred Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance with a possible national certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance preferred.
• National Certification as Medical Assistant a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms.
• Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record with chief complaint, medical/surgical history, allergies, medications, and review of systems, and records vital signs.
• Processes and files lab/diagnostic test results and clinical notes in the chart after physician review.
• Coordinates patient flow in the office.
• Collaborates with receptionist to ensure timely patient visits.
• Assists front office by answering calls, scheduling appointments, and other tasks.

Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance

National Certification as Medical Assistant
