Job summary

Meals on Wheels of Southwest Ohio & Northern Kentucky is seeking a Kitchen Prep Assistant for its Cincinnati area kitchen. This full-time, day-shift role begins at 6 am, Monday through Friday, and involves bulk meal prep, quality control, and supporting HDM pre-production and congregate meals.

You will work under the Kitchen Lead to ensure food safety, proper portioning, and timely preparation. Candidates must be 18+, fluent in English, have basic math skills, reliable transportation, and pass

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must read, write, speak and understand English.
Must have basic mathematical skills.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

Make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
Deal tactfully with staff, government agency personnel and the general public.
Verify meal order fulfillment.
Maintain food safety requirements at all times.
Provide temperature monitoring and documentation as required by the Food Safety Plan.
Convert individual serving quantities to accurate bulk preparation.
Perform basic kitchen prep skills.
Ensure orders go out in a timely and efficient manner.
Report production concerns to the Kitchen Lead.
Maintain work areas in a clean, safe and compliant manner.
Report safety and maintenance issues promptly.
Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
Attend approved educational and training events.
