Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Hanover Park, IL is seeking a Material Handler for the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm). You will help ensure the accurate flow of materials on the distribution floor, load/unload, and prepare items for shipment using a cherry picker or order platform picker.

The role requires forklift operation, RF scanner proficiency, and physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs. Compensation starts at $18.75/hr and varies by location and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass forklift license requirements.
• Read and write in English.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient with RF scanners.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve empty pallets, boxes, totes, and trash as needed in department.
• Sort and locate material from floor to surplus location.
• Retrieve and count product to fulfill customer orders.
• Retrieve and count product to fulfill inter warehouse transfers.
• Retrieve product from pallet rack or bins.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely for each order.
• Wrap and weight pallets using stretch wrapper.
• Scan orders using RF equipment to pallet license plates.
• Operate all types of power industrial lift equipment and maintain assigned equipment.
• Actively participate in general housekeeping activities.
• Assist with periodic physical inventory activities.
